Our key executives have expertise and extensive experience in science and research, population health, healthcare informatics, information management, contract administration, program management, strategic planning, and many other areas. Our Applied Research services assist our clients in the implementation of applied and translational research projects to meet organizational objectives in the Sciences, Health Sciences, Population Health and other areas. We identify the underlying science, methods, and best practices that our clients can use to achieve their objectives and facilitate the adoption identified strategies.

Our Environmental Health services include support for sample collection, processing, and testing as well as the development and implementation of novel methods. Our experience providing environmental health and science services includes the support that we provide for the BioWatch program. Applications include:

  • Collection and processing of environmental samples including water, wastewater, soil, sediment, biosolids, and filter samples
  • Testing of environmental samples for viral, bacterial, and parasitic agents, toxins, microbial indicators of fecal contamination, and water quality parameters
  • Development of new environmental sample collection, processing, and testing methods for various activities, including outbreak investigations and other investigations of suspected environmental contamination
Our epidemiology support services encompass surveillance and data collection, analysis and modeling for outbreak investigations, disease etiology, transmission, and vaccine effectiveness studies, screening, and many other areas. We currently provide Epidemiology support services in Africa, Central and South America, and the United States. Applications include:
  • Worldwide systematic population-based surveillance for identification of risk factors and causative agents of disease, identification of disease trends, vaccine efficacy evaluation, strain characterization, antibiotic resistance, outbreak investigation, and other areas
  • Development of study and surveillance materials and documentation, such as protocols, data dictionaries, and data collection forms, ensuring high data quality standards.
  • Statistical model selection and evaluation, establishment of predictive models, and population genetics.
Creation of health related information and global dissemination through a variety of media for the purpose of informing clinicians, health ministry officials, laboratory directors, the public and others. Applications include, but are not limited to:

IHRC offers Health Economics services to assist our clients in the analysis of the burden and impact of disease, the cost and cost effectiveness of health interventions, and other areas within our client's economic research objectives. Our Health Policy Analysis services assist our clients in the formulation of comprehensive policy analysis plans that are supported by scientific evidence through identification of the science base underlying policy components, identification of relevant databases, the development of policy analysis tools and training material, use of quantitative and qualitative methods to synthesize policy findings, identification and mitigation of gaps, and effective dissemination of results to key partners.

IHRC offers Mathematical Modeling services to our clients for the simulation of real world systems of interest through mathematics to predict future outcomes, the effects of interventions, and other variables. We work closely with our clients to understand their modeling needs and develop mathematical models and computational modeling tools to simulate the desired system. Applications include, but are not limited to:
  • Modeling of the interactions between agents and their hosts, disease spread, preparedness threats, prediction systems, response strategies, and other systems
  • Inference of attack rate from available surveillance data and prediction of final attack rate
  • Assessment of the possible impact(s) of intervention(s), including, but not limited to medical countermeasures, treatment, and vaccines on the system of interest

We assist our clients in the selection and application statistical methods to address organizational objectives. Our consultants have expertise in statistical theory as well as in the use of numerous open source and commercially available statistical analysis software packages including, but not limited to, SAS, SPSS, Stata, R, and MATLAB. Our services include full project implementation and support such as study design, data collection and analysis, and production of reports. Applications include:
  • Construction of framework and methodology (sampling, estimation, hypothesis testing) for optimal data collection and interpretation
